Making good progress working through my whole sample library with this method.įor me XO was a different workflow that I didn't actually enjoy very much. Easy to do when I've had a long day and don't feel like delving into a whole song. I've started doing sessions where I just spend like 30-60 minutes going through my sample packs and adding to my personal library. With Sononym's implementation it's not moving files out of your sample packs so you aren't accidentally deleting samples. I prefer to work in the DAW as much as possible so having my samples available through standard Ableton browsing is a huge plus. Since auto export is enabled the new sample immediately pops up in Ableton. When I get a new sample pack it's loaded into Sononym and then I sift through it, and when I find a sample I like I added it to my project. I have auto export enabled so this folder structure is created on my hard disk and the parent folder is added directly into my Ableton. In Sononym I have a "project" for the 2022 year which contains a folder structure for drums, synths, fx, vocals etc that I like and am using in my productions this year. My main use case for a sample organizer is putting my samples into an easy to use file structure that I can access directly from Ableton.
